Tillydrone Community Development Trust have officially opened Wallace Tower to the public.<\/p>

The tower opened its doors, on the 5th<\/sup> of December 2025, welcoming visitors into the newly opened caf\u00e9, Liberty Kitchen.<\/p>

Trust Secretary Jane Fullerton said “Tillydrone Community Development Trust are delighted to announce that, after many years of planning and hard work, the Wallace Tower is finally open for the community!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

\u201cLiberty Kitchen caf\u00e9 opened their doors at the Tower on Friday 5th<\/sup>\u00a0December. We are so happy to welcome Nikki Leys and her team to the tower and just know this lovely wee caf\u00e9 will be a welcome addition to all who live in, work in or visit the area. Come in, and enjoy the cakes, pastries and coffee and the lovely views of Seaton Park and the River Don.\u00a0 Oh, and its dog friendly for \u2018well behaved\u2019 dogs, so a walk and a coffee will go hand in hand!”<\/p>

If you\u2019d like to visit the caf\u00e9 and have a look round the tower, its open Wednesday to Friday between 10am and 4pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Trust were assured of the Wallace Towers appeal to the public after having first opened the doors to the public for the 2025 Aberdeen Doors Open Day on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September 2025.<\/p>

Trust Chair Colin McFadyen hailed the Trust\u2019s initiative to open the doors of the Tower as \u201can outstanding success which showed the progress the Trust has made in restoring the building and adding a caf\u00e9 extension\u201d.<\/p>

Trustee Linda Barclay added \u201cwe were delighted to see so many people from both Tillydrone and the City and indeed from visitors to Aberdeen. Over 800 people joined us over the two days and many of them were eager to visit the caf\u00e9 as soon as it opens.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Trust Treasurer Susan Thoms praised the Tillydrone Community for its efforts to support the Trust. \u201cWe have raised \u00a3700,000 which has been spent to fund the work to date, and we are very grateful to the funders and members of the public who have helped us get to this stage. We have a lot more work to do as we still need to refurbish the first and second floors of the Tower, with around \u00a380,000 required to complete the building. Anyone wanting to help us get the Wallace Tower fully open, with spaces for the community to use, can make donations to our Crowdfunder at<\/p>
