Connecting people, opportunities and places in Tillydrone

Christmas 2025

Tillydrone Community Council in partnership with The Campus and St George’s held it’s first joint Christmas Festival on Saturday 29th November.

The two neighbouring community centres got together and both had many free activities, including a Santa’s grotto, a table for craft activities like card making, an adopt a teddy table, there was face painting and glitter tattoos, a Christmassy local craft fayre, a tombola with lots of prizes and even a movie with a visit from the Grinch, with lots of wrapped selection boxes for children.

Free soup and sandwiches, and later pakoras, were also provided for everyone.

Thank you to CWAS, Cycling Without Age Scotland, who supported us on the day, bringing 2 Trishaws and taking folks for a ride around the area.

While Tillydrone Community Council worked hard to get the Christmas Lights switched on for 2025- let alone on that day!

A big Thankyou goes to everyone involved on the day and a special thanks for getting those lights twinkling on that day, from councillor to workmen, you certainly made it special.

Addressing Morrisons Car Park

In January’s meeting of Tillydrone Community Council we were made aware that the original plans for our local Morrisons carpark and the waste ground that the old council building used to stand on has fallen through.

ACC were forced back to the drawing board & new plans have been drawn up, leaving Morrisons to upgrade their own carpark & the ACC to do theirs.  We may see a couple of new car spaces for the Campus and a low maintenance green space for the rest of the area.

Several people have commented on a recent local Facebook page regarding Morrisons, saying that they are unable to access the shop, some have even reported their cars being damaged when entering or exiting Morrisons carpark, while Tillydrone Community Council see it as a Health and Safety Hazard.

Surely it would be in everyone’s interest to get the carpark made safe.
