Aberdeen City Council’s Waste and Recycling team is out and about in Tillydrone between February and June talking to residents and providing advice and answers to their questions about recycling in the community.
Look out for the team knocking on your door for a chat about the best ways to sort your recyclables, recycle your food waste, and use Council services like recycling centres, bulky uplifts, and small electricals bins to manage what you use. The team will be happy to answer any questions you have, including on issues like flytipping in the area. They will also be dropping into schools and local businesses to help boost their waste awareness.
The work forms part of a wider campaign to visit localities across the city and try to help residents manage their waste and recycling effectively. The project started with visits to Altens, Cove, Kincorth, Nigg, Torry, and Tullos in 2025, with a new locality to be selected after work in Tilly is finished.
By engaging with the team, you can also find out details of how to become a recycling champion for your area, by nominating yourself for an opportunity to help the council promote the recycling message, and win a £25 Aberdeen Gift Card.
